X CLUB.

The sound of X CLUB., the dance production duo of Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath, is not easily defined. Inspired by early 90s techno all the way through to future-facing drum’n’bass, X CLUB. has carved out a space entirely their own thanks to their authentic and eclectic take on dance music with serious consideration for underlying groove.

Founded from the rustic walls of Brisbane/Meanjin Australia’s warehouse scene and exported to London as their home-base, X CLUB. counts the likes of Steel City Dance Discs, CROWDS, 99CTS Records and Stay On Sight as homes for their music, alongside their own label, HIDE THE JUNK.

X CLUB.’s sets are at once precise and considered as they are unrelenting and propulsive. The pair opt to guide their audience on a dynamic, energetic and unpredictable ride, gaining buzz as “one of the hottest new dance acts“, as labelled by BBC-R1’s Sarah Story, which is the result of friendship, authenticity, and of course, hard n’ fast tracks.

2023 saw X CLUB. propel onto the international touring circuit, every weekend performing in a new country, club and festival for the first time across Europe, North America and Asia. Highlights include a debut Boiler Room at AVA Belast, III Points Miami, Glitch Malta, Warehouse Project Manchester and Brunch Barcelona to name a few. On their home soil of Australia, they curated warehouse parties along the east coast to the tune of 10,000 tickets sold inviting guests DJ Heartstring, Miley Serious and Sam Alfred - further cementing their place as one of the leading techno projects in Australia.

2023 also saw the launch of their own label imprint, HIDE THE JUNK, set up as an extension of the already established X CLUB. sound with a focus on positive energy and percussive grooves that inject fun into techno. The first 12” EP release titled ‘HTJ001’ was led by ‘Block Rockin’, five thrilling minutes of bouncing techno drums and entrancing synth stabs that was debuted in their AVA Belfast Boiler Room set. To close out the year X CLUB. also dropped a 4-track release on FJAAK’s new label, CROWDS, and after much anticipation gave fans two highly requested edits, ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ and ‘Here Once Again’, as part of their Junk Tracks series.

2024 will see the second release on their label drop in March, titled ‘Wrestling With New Technique’, led by single ‘Parallel Wire’, a perfect embodiment of the X CLUB. way - a mix of something new and fresh while retaining that colour and spirit that defines their signature sound.

On the road, X CLUB. will return to North & South America for sets at CRSSD Festival San Diego, Elsewhere Hall Brooklyn and BAUM Colombia & Chile, before jetting back to Australia to headline Pitch Music & Arts Festival and then onto China, Singapore and Korea for club plays; then it’s back to the UK & Europe as the warmer months being to set in.

X CLUB. is not taking anything for granted. They are solidifying their presence as one of techno's most exciting new names both in the studio and on the live stage. Always eager to keep pushing and breaking new ground, the duo remain a serious force du jour and one which will be felt across the world as they continue their mission of global domination — one dance floor at a time.
